Michigan Jiu-Jitsu Championship was started to provide another venue for jiu-jitsu (and grappling, judo, submission wrestling, etc.) practitioners to display their skills in a competitive and fun environment. The championship is open to all jiu-jitsu practitioners everywhere, not just those from Michigan.

The GI championship will be held the Saturday before the NFL superbowl. The NO-GI championship will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving weekend.
